Business Continuity incident: chemical leak forces evacuation of university building

The Civil Engineering building at the University of Leeds has been evacuated this afternoon following reports of a chemical leak.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service is currently in attendance at the site on Woodhouse Lane.

They say specialist officers are currently in the process of locating and identifying the source of a respiratory irritant and fire crews on standby as a precaution.

They are also ventilating the building. There have been no reports of injuries.
